<strong>PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE</strong>

With 10 years of professional brand experience, Ewoudt has worked at various advertising agencies over the course of his career, which include being Head of Social Media at Wunderman Thompson as well as Chief Digital Officer at Avatar agency. Currently, Ewoudt fulfils the role of Senior Manager, Digital Operations for Game, where he is responsible for the overarching digital marketing strategy and implementation for Game SA and Africa.

His skillsets and experience cover all of the following facets of Digital Business services: Integrated Digital Campaign Planning, Strategy &amp; Execution; Social Media Strategy &amp; Execution; Digital Paid Media Planning and Execution; Digital Lead Generation; Digital Transformation; Digital PR, Digital Content Marketing; Paid &amp; Organic SEO; Online Reputation Management; CRM Strategy &amp; Implementation, to name but a few.

He has also had the privilege of working on brands such as Nando’s, Samsung, Coca-Cola, Unilever, PlayStation and Oreo.

<strong>ACADEMIC BACKGROUND</strong>

Even though Ewoudt has been working full-time in digital marketing for many years, he also has a burning passion for academics and completed his PhD in Communication Studies via the North West University in 2017. Ewoudt’s thesis explored the organisational positioning of professional social media within a modern marketing communications context.

Although his passion for Communication Sciences has by no means faltered, he has recently started contemplating if exploring another, but interrelated field of study would be able to deepen my understanding of the field of Communications and the application thereof. It is for this reason that he is currently enrolled in a MSc in Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom. He is confident that a better understanding of human Psychology will not only make him a more effective communicator, but will also help him understand modern consumer motivations better.

He furthermore also conducts part-time Marketing and Digital Marketing Lecturing and academic course content development for various South African academic institutions, such as IMM Graduate School and Enterprises University of Pretoria.
